Cyclists of all ages are being invited to get on their bikes and raise funds for a good cause in the second Lichfield to Curborough Ride 4 Health, organised by Lichfield St Chad Rotary Club.
The family fundraiser, in aid of the British Heart Foundation, takes place on 1st October 2017. It is being organised in conjunction with Curborough Sprint Circuit – the premier UK motorsports sprinting venue – and will give riders the unique opportunity to cycle around the beautifully-surfaced, traffic-free track.
Riders can either a complete a six-mile round trip from the Market Square in Lichfield to Curborough Sprint Circuit and back, with laps of the 3/4-mile circuit in between, or they can head straight to the track and complete a target number of laps. The latter option makes it a perfect fundraising event for families with young children.
The event will start at 10.00 am from the Market square in Lichfield, where registration will take place from 9.00am. Riders must be back in the Market square by 1.30 pm, which allows plenty of time to ride to Curborough, ride the circuit, and return. The whole route will be fully marshalled, and except for Netherstowe Lane which is a very quiet country lane, is all on dedicated cycle routes (you can trace it on the Staffordshire official cycle map).
Entry is FREE and all we ask is that entrants do obtain some sponsorship for the British Heart Foundation, but there is no minimum amount. Entrants can be sponsored for the total distance covered, number laps of Curborough, or just a fixed sum of money. It’s up to you. You can download an official sponsorship form via the link on the online registration page.
