The event will start at 10.00 am from the Market square in Lichfield, where registration will take place from 9.00am. Riders must be back in the Market square by 1.30 pm, which allows plenty of time to ride to Curborough , ride the circuit, and return. The whole route will be fully marshalled, and except for Netherstowe Lane which is a very quiet country lane, is all on dedicated cycle routes ( you can trace it on the Staffordshire official cycle map).
The only conditions we make are that all cycles must be in good condition, and they will be checked by Freedom Cycles before setting off. All riders MUST wear a helmet, and children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult rider.
As an alternative, this year we will welcome anyone who only wants to ride at Curborough, and you can register there from 10.00am if you prefer.
Last year we charged an entry fee, which after some thought, we have decided not to do this year, so entry to the event is absolutely free.
All we ask is that entrants do obtain some sponsorship for the BHF, but there is no minimum amount. Entrants can be sponsored for the total distance covered, number laps of Curborough, or just a fixed sum of money. It’s up to you.
We will start advertising the ride soon, and there will be an emphasis on entry by the Internet, Facebook and other electronic means. It will still be possible to enter by paper forms, and they will be available from Tesco Lichfield, Freedom cycles, and from most schools in Lichfield, or any Rotary club member.
Every entrant will receive a T shirt, a medal and certificate to confirm you have taken part.
